<p>It seems like I can&#8217;t go on the web without seeing some story about the health hazards of plastics. And, you know what? Spring is just around the corner and it&#8217;s time to get ready to carry something to hydrate yourself in the heat . So, instead of running off to the nearest 7-11 to buy something blue or pink in a plastic bottle, you might consider getting a stainless steel drink container.</p>
<p>Susan Nagel, a professor of obstetrics, gynecology and women’s health at the University of Missouri, has been researching plastics for more than 10 years. &#8220;Water bottles. Yes, it’s possible to live without a plastic water bottle.&#8221; Nagel says. “Use stainless steel or glass.”</p>
<p>Pretty simple really. Plus, think of all those plastic bottles that you won&#8217;t have to cart out to the street once a week to recycle!</p>

<p>3.	“Of the more than 100 independently funded experiments on BPA, about 90% have found evidence of adverse health effects at levels similar to human exposure.” <BR></p>
<p>4.	“[E]every single industry-funded study ever conducted &#8212; 14 in all &#8212; has found no [adverse health] effects.”<BR></p>
<p>5.	“[A] rat strain called the CD Sprague-Dawley, which has been shown to be insensitive to synthetic estrogens like BPA” has been used in 13 of the 29 studies that have shown no harm due to BPA. <BR></p>
<p>6.	Scientists responsible for most studies are usually consultants working for the companies profiting from the compound. <BR></p>
<p>7.	“The United States has a long tradition of keeping harmful substances &#8212; lead, DDT, tobacco, PCBs &#8212; on the market for decades after scientists find adverse effects.”<BR></p>
