Why is stainless steel better for me?
Stainless steel containers do not leach.
With all the news about BPA and the green movement towards a healthier environment and less plastic, everyone is talking about stainless steel. Especially for water bottles and for lunch box containers. But is it is really healthier? Better for the environment?
Stainless steel is definitely better for the environment. According to wikipedia:
“Stainless steel is 100% recyclable. In fact, an average stainless steel object is composed of about 60% recycled material, 25% originating from end-of-life products and 35% coming from manufacturing processes.”
It is also healthier for you, since there is no contamination of the food or liquids that come in contact with stainless steel. It has no coating that can break down or dissolve.
