The Algalita Marine Research Foundation continues to bring attention to the trash vortex collecting out in the ocean between California and Hawaii.
An energetic couple is biking from Vancouver, Canada to Tijuana, México to bring attention to this pile of trash in the ocean estimated to be twice the size of the state of Texas.
Their JUNKride 2009 aims to show people how plastics last forever and a lot of them are ending up in the ocean in what is known as the pacific trash vortex.
